In 1967, the Brief Therapy Center® was founded as part of the Mental Research Institute – MRI. Since the Institute’s closure, the Brief Therapy Center® has been the sole successor of the MRI’s original Brief Therapy Center®. Today, it stands as the leading institution in the promotion and dissemination of Problem-Solving Brief Therapy. In 2007, Karin Schlanger became its director, and she continues to lead the premier center for this therapeutic model to this day.

Practice makes perfect! We offer small group and individual supervisions so that you can become good at what you do. Mostly online but inquire about face to face options.

About Our Model

We are different from all other models of therapy in many ways. Feel free to ask us questions to get to the answers that you are looking for and, the foremost difference with other models, is that treatments are a lot longer because therapists open many doors, especially in the past that don’t need to be opened when you are forward, future thinking.
